Shelagh's passion lies in the art of writing and in helping others become confident writers. She is a fiction writer, a professor of Literature and Creative Writing, and the faculty editor of Bowie State University's literary magazine, The Torch. She holds an MFA in Fiction from American University and has over twenty years of experience writing and editing various media. Her writing has been nominated for Best Microfiction and Best Small Fictions, and she is the recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence and the English Impact Award for her work as a professor.
